CropVoice listens to crops to take the guesswork out of soybean fungicide decisions by sending alerts when there’s disease near specific fields.

CropVoice™ is InnerPlant’s groundbreaking insights platform that combines data from a network of sentinel plots featuring InnerSoy™ – a first-of-its-kind soybean engineered to signal when it’s stressed. Data is analyzed using advanced predictive models to provide the earliest, most definitive detection of fungal infection and deliver the highest ROI crop protection strategies.

Environmental and pathogenic data are important detection signals but fail to provide proof that plants are actually infected. With millions of sensors deployed, InnerPlant is the ONLY company that completes the “disease triangle” by using the earliest physiological responses directly from plants to confirm infection – as it’s happening.

CropVoice™ Benefits

  • Early Detection with Live Plant: Leverage natural signals directly from plant physiology unavailable to synthetic sensors for the earliest warnings of fungal infection
  • Maximum Sensors at the Lowest Cost: Plants as sensors give millions of data points without heavy hardware costs.
  • Clear Guidance for Confident Application: Receive straightforward recommendations that enable farmers to apply treatments with assurance, safeguarding their yields.

Data from the InnerSoy™ sensors is combined with additional data sources to improve scouting efforts so agronomists can make spray recommendations to growers with confidence and ultimately enhance crop yields and protection strategies.

General Overview Questions

CropVoice is a tool that takes the guesswork out of your soybean fungicide decision by sending you Disease Alerts when there is confirmed disease near your fields. These simple text alerts are powered by a network of first-of-their-kind soybeans engineered to signal only when there is an infection. Farmers also receive Scouting Reports in season for their local area.

Farmers receive a Disease Alert when there is confirmed above-ground soybean fungal disease in their area. This Disease Alert lets them know that there is an actual disease infecting real soybean plants near one of their fields.

The Disease Alerts are powered by a network of CropVoice plots that are monitored daily. InnerSoy™ plants are genetically engineered to fluoresce when infected by above-ground fungal pathogens, like frogeye leaf spot and white mold, signaling early signs of disease.

The CropVoice network also uses many other sources of information:  boots-on-the-ground scouting efforts by local agronomists, tissue sampling, and advanced disease forecasts that take into account historical disease pressure and weather.

Disease Alerts are delivered through existing communication channels farmers already use: text message, email, or the John Deere Operations Center. There is no additional application farmers need to download or CropVoice log-in they need to remember.

CropVoice costs $6 per acre.

No, farmers must enroll all soybean acres within the CropVoice network. Each field may experience different disease pressure based on location within the network.

Farmers can get started with CropVoice by enrolling with their local authorized retailer.

Once you let your retailer know that you’d like to purchase CropVoice to protect your soybean crop, your retailer will securely provide the following information to InnerPlant to get you enrolled:

  1. Farmer contact information (phone and email)
  2. Field names and boundaries (shape files)
  3. John Deere Operation Center Account (if applicable)

Technical & Agronomic Questions

CropVoice can detect fungal disease weeks before visible symptoms appear in fields. InnerSoy signals as soon as the plant’s immune system is activated – well before visible symptoms.

CropVoice focuses on detecting above-ground fungal pathogens that are treatable in season, like white mold and frogeye leaf spot. The system provides early warnings for confirmed infections, enabling farmers to take timely and confident action to protect their crops.

No, CropVoice operates as a regional network rather than via field-by-field deployment. The sensor plots feed information into the CropVoice network, which provides disease insights for multiple surrounding fields.

No, farmers do not need to allocate land or manage the sensor plots. InnerPlant and its partners handle all plot setup, management, and monitoring to ensure reliable, high-quality alerts with no extra work from farmers.

Sensor plots are strategically placed to ensure coverage near enrolled fields and that the network provides representative disease pressure insights. Exact distances will vary, but are optimized to provide reliable insights for participating farmers.

Sensor plots are managed using standard, local agronomic practices to ensure that signals are representative of enrolled field conditions (e.g., row width, tillage, relative maturity of the InnerSoy variety, etc.).
